Tucker Family Scholarship

To provide need-based financial support for a first-generation student studying in the Robertson School of Media and Culture. The scholarship provides support for undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need and a strong commitment to the principles of diversity. Applicants must have completed at least 12 credits and maintain at least a 2.5 grade point average. The scholarship is renewable. Preference will be given to candidates who meet one or more of the following criteria:

1. Candidates allowing the VCU College of Humanities and Sciences to be committed to the principles of diversity

2. Candidates who are members of any of the following VCU organizations:

  • VCU Alumni’s African American Alumni Council’s Mentoring Circle
  • An alumni mentoring or career program with similar intent
  • National Association of black Journalists
  • Black Excellence at VCU
  • Black Student Union
  • Black Awakening Choir
  • Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
  • Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
  • Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
  • Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
