Beverly J. Warren Scholarship

The Beverly J. Warren scholarship was established in 2014 by family, friends and colleagues of outgoing Provost Beverly Warren, Ed.D., Ph.D. Dr. Warren came to VCU in 2000, serving first as a professor and head of the Division of Health, Physical Education and Recreation and then later as dean of the VCU School of Education. She was named interim provost in April 2010 and, following a national search, provost in 2011. The scholarship honors Dr. Warren’s great contributions to VCU, including her commitment to accessibility and affordability in education. The Beverly J. Warren Scholarship is awarded to eligible full-time, undergraduate students in the any undergraduate discipline within VCU. The applicants must be full-time, rising sophomores, juniors or seniors; meet university criteria of financial need; and have demonstrated engagement and leadership potential as evidenced through the Emerging Leaders Program, the living-learning Leadership Program, campus clubs and organizations, etc. Preference is given to students who are the first in their families to attend college.
