Howard G. Garner Scholarship Fund in Education

The Howard G. Garner Scholarship for Developmental Disabilities and Interdisciplinary Studies was established in honor of Dr. Howard G. Garner, a former School of Education faculty member and the first director of the Virginia Institute for Developmental Disabilities (VIDD). The Garner Scholarship provides financial assistance for part-time or full-time graduate students who are pursuing studies in the field of developmental disabilities, with preference given to applicants who are VIDD trainees. Preference is given to those who demonstrate a commitment to the field of developmental disabilities, academic excellence, and exhibit evidence of leadership qualities.
