Rizpah L. Welch Scholarship Fund in the School of Education

Friends and colleagues of Dr. Rizpah Welch, professor emerita of education, established the Rizpah L. Welch Scholarship Fund in the School of Education. After joining the faculty at VCU in 1967, Dr. Welch chaired the Department of Special Education and directed the Educational Development Centers Complex. Retired since 1991, Dr. Welch currently serves as a member of the VCU Friends of the Library Board. Administered by the VCU Foundation, this fund, which honors Dr. Welch’s contributions to the School and the field of special education, provides scholarship support for students who have been admitted to the Special Education Program at VCU. The recipient must been enrolled full time during the period of the award and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
