Two Scholarships to Study Abroad in India in Summer 2026!

VCU School of Business students are invited to apply for a 4-week summer study abroad program at our partner institution, Christ University in India (June 29-July 25). Two VCU Business students will receive a joint scholarship (valued at $1,480 each) from the VCU School of Business and VCU’s Global Education Office!

Students will earn 4 VCU elective credits while studying Indian culture, wellness, social outreach, and literature.

What’s included: Two students will each receive a scholarship to cover the Christ University program fee (each scholarship is valued at $1,480), which includes:

  • 4 credits of tuition at Christ University
  • On-campus meals
  • Single accommodation
  • Airport pickup/drop-off
  • One local sightseeing excursion
  • One overnight camp
  • Mysore day excursion, and more.

Not included: Students are responsible for the cost of airfare, the $450 GEO program commitment deposit, passport/immigration costs, immunizations, insurance, personal expenses, and anything not specifically described above.

Expectations: Selected participants are expected to share their experience with GEO and the School of Business as we continue to expand opportunities for VCU students to India.

Supplemental Questions
  1. In a clear, thoughtfully prepared essay of approximately 500 words, introduce yourself and present your reasons for wanting to study abroad or study away. State what you expect to gain from the experience - personally, academically, and professionally. Discuss how you plan to share your experiences upon your return.
  2. Please write a paragraph (no more than 500 words) explaining your demonstrated interest in India. Examples of demonstrated interest may include, but are not limited to, study abroad, coursework, travel, volunteer opportunities, and membership/involvement in student and other related organizations.
  3. In no more than 500 words, please provide an explanation of your financial need as it relates to your plans to study abroad and provide any additional details about your ability to fund your study abroad. Use this as an opportunity to discuss why you need this scholarship in order to participate in the program.
