James O. Hodges Scholarship
The James O. Hodges Scholarship was established by the Hodges family and friends to honor Professor Emeritus James Hodges, who taught in the VCU School of Education from 1974-95 and was the first recipient of the school’s Charles P. Ruch Award for teaching excellence. The scholarship is awarded annually based on financial need and a demonstrated commitment to serving students in elementary education. Students selected must demonstrate significant involvement with the Student Virginia Education Association, with preference given to students who have held leadership roles in SVEA.
