The Miriam S. Blake Scholarship in Early and Elementary Education was established in 2011 by William E. Blake Jr., Ph.D., and Miriam S. Blake (B.S.‘69; M.Ed.’76). The scholarship is awarded to students who are planning a teaching career in early and elementary education, have been accepted to the teacher preparation program in the VCU School of Education, demonstrate leadership qualities and have a strong need for financial assistance.
