Michael D. Davis Scholarship in Urban Education

The Davis scholarship supports undergraduate and graduate students who are pursuing teacher prerequisites in the School of Education. Recipients will show an interest in working with PreK-12 learners from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds and demonstrate a commitment to teaching in an urban setting.

The Michael D. Davis Scholarship in Urban Education was established in 2012 by faculty, staff, friends and colleagues in honor of Michael D. Davis, Ph.D., professor in the VCU School of Education and special assistant to the provost. The scholarship supports PK-12 teacher education graduate students in the Department of Teaching and Learning and the Department of Special Education and Disability Policy who are seeking a teaching career in PK-12 urban classrooms.
