Hans S. Falck Scholarship

Established in 2004 in honor of Dr. Hans S. Falck. Dr. Falck was an emeritus faculty member who is well-known nationally and internationally for his commitment to health social work and the development of the “membership perspective.”

The Hans S. Falck Scholarship is awarded to registered Ph.D. students or candidates who have successfully passed their qualifying examinations and are actively engaged in conducting their dissertation research. This research seeks to advance knowledge about human health and community, defined broadly, and the proposed dissertation research adheres to the intent of the scholarship. This scholarship is for continuing students only. To apply for the scholarship, students should submit:
A succinct summary of their dissertation research, including a timeline for completion of the research, and discusses how the scholarship dollars will be used in the conduct of the research
A letter of support from the applicant’s dissertation chair that includes an assessment of the Ph.D. student/candidate’s progress toward the completion of the degree
A current CV
