David R. Brenner Scholarship
The family of David R. Brenner established the David R. Brenner Award Fund, administered by the Richmond Jewish Foundation, that proudly supports a namesake scholarship here at VCU in memory of their son and beloved family member. The scholarship recipient shall:
a. be a graduate of a high school in the RPS and shall have demonstrated significant academic achievement in high school as well as financial need. If no such graduate of RPS is eligible, the Scholarship shall be awarded to a graduate of a Virginia public high school who is otherwise eligible, but in that case, the scholarship shall be available only until an RPS graduate becomes eligible at the start of a new academic year;
b. be a full-time student in the College or, if no such person is eligible, shall carry at least seventy-five percent (75%) of a full-time course load;
c. maintain a grade-point average in the College of at least 3.0 on a scale of 4.0 to be eligible for continued support;
d. continue to receive the award in subsequent consecutive years if he or she remains eligible and is an RPS graduate, up to a maximum of five consecutive years; and
e. be notified in writing of the source of the Scholarship and of its relationship to RJF and the Brenner Family.
If no person meets these qualifications, the Scholarship shall be suspended from year to year until an eligible person is available.
