Craig Kennedy Scholarships in History
This scholarship was established by Craig Kennedy, husband of the late Susan Estabrook Kennedy, Ph.D.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- Applicants for the Kennedy Scholarship can be either undergraduate or graduate students majoring in History. At least one scholarship each cycle will be awarded to an undergraduate.
- One scholarship will be awarded based exclusively on merit to a student with a minimum 3.5 GPA, both overall and in their History classes.
- One scholarship will be awarded on both need and merit to a student with a minimum 2.5 GPA, both overall and in their History classes.
REQUIRED MATERIALS AND ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:
- To demonstrate merit, applicants should submit a statement of no more than 500 words describing how being awarded the Kennedy Scholarship would affect their life, both academically and financially.
- “Need” in this context refers to those students who are contributing significantly toward putting themselves through college, those not currently on full scholarships, and those who may be able to reduce their dependence upon external and/or student loans by receiving the Craig Kennedy Scholarship.
