Lester W. Morris Jr. Scholarship

Lester W. Morris, Jr. franchised and opened the first McDonald’s in the state of Virginia in Norfolk. He later opened a McDonalds in Richmond at 5520 W. Broad Street. He was an incredibly hardworking and generous man. The Lester W. Morris, Jr. Scholarship was established in 2003 with a gift from his estate. Though Mr. Morris had no connection to VCU, he was inspired to help students attend college. This fund is awarded to meritorious students with demonstrated financial need.
