Fostering Success Scholarship

The Fostering Success Scholarship was established in 2014 by VCU School of Social Work emerita faculty member, Marcia Harrigan (M.S.W. ’74/SW; Ph.D. ’89/E), The scholarship is supported by friends of the VCU School of Social Work.

The Fostering Success Scholarship supports full- or part-time B.S.W. (upper-level) or M.S.W. (area of specialization) students who have demonstrated sensitivity, competence and deep understanding of the experience of foster care youth, an understanding of the foster care system, a commitment to pursuing a social work career in positive child/youth/family development, and potential for leadership in the profession. The student must demonstrate financial need as determined by VCU Office of Financial Aid.
