Virginia Dental Association Scholars

The Virginia Dental Association has witnessed the exponential growth of dental student indebtedness and its effects on the state of current dentistry. In 2014, following years of support for dental student scholarships and with a desire to decrease the burden of student debt, the leadership of the VDA generously and graciously established an endowed scholarship at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. Virginia Dental Association Scholars are chosen from a pool of applicants who have expressed interest in practicing in Virginia and in organized dentistry. A slate of qualified candidates will be presented to the executive director of the VDA each year, and the VDA leadership will recommend their preference(s) with the school’s scholarship selection committee.
