Edmond Theodore Glenn Scholarship

Dr. Edmond Theodore Glenn attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was an ardent tarheel. He loved the mountains of N.C., especially in Avery County, the site of his Appalachian retreat. Glenn was an avid outdoorsman and a vivid conversationalist. He played a mean hand of bridge and could pound out a tune on the organ. Glenn was fourth in his class at the MCV School of Dentistry, graduating in 1934. His work as a scholar led to his specialization in exodontias. Dr. Harry Lyons, the dean of the dental school during Glenn’s years there, recalled he was “always gentlemanly” as a student, and his demeanor won him the admiration of everyone who knew him. Lorena Lawrence Glenn established this fund in honor of her husband in 1992.
