Ann Elizabeth Marston Scholarship Fund in the School of Education

The Ann Elizabeth Marston Scholarship in the School of Education was established in 1996 by Dr. and Mrs. Robert A. Wilson. Dr. Wilson was appointed to Richmond Professional Institute’s Board of Visitors in 1962 and was named its Rector in 1965. He served in that role until 1968, when RPI merged with the Medical College of Virginia to form Virginia Commonwealth University. He was appointed to VCU’s first Board of Visitors by former Governor Mills Godwin and was named Rector of the Board in 1970. He received VCU’s Wayne Medal in recognition of his service to VCU in 1984.
The Ann Elizabeth Marston Scholarship provides need-based scholarship support for students planning teaching careers in elementary or secondary education. Recipients must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and have demonstrated leadership qualities.
