Maurice Bonds Scholarship in Painting + Printmaking

The Bonds funds are the legacy of Josephine S. Bonds and Professor Emeritus Maurice Bonds. Mrs. Josephine S. Bonds was a 1955 alumna of Richmond Public Institute, today VCU. Mr. Bonds, a 1940 alumnus, was a teacher and chair of VCU’s Fine Arts Department, and also the founder and first chair of the Art History Department. The Bonds funds were established with numerous gifts from Josephine Bonds to honor the memory of her husband and his legacy at the School of the Arts.
The Maurice Bonds Scholarship in Painting and Printmaking is awarded to meritorious students in the department of Painting and Printmaking at the VCU School of the Arts.
