Bess T. Brownell Architectural History Scholarship
In 1995, Dr. Charles Brownell, a professor of art history in VCU’s School of the Arts, initiated this fund in memory of his mother, Bess T. Brownell, an enthusiastic supporter and friend of many VCU art history students. Administered by the VCU Foundation, the Brownell Architectural History Assistantship is awarded on the basis of merit to graduate or undergraduate students who participate in the VCU Department of Art History’s architectural history programs.
