Elaine West Johnson Scholarship in Special Education

The Elaine West Johnson Scholarship in Special Education was established in 2011 by her daughter, Dr. Diane Simon, in honor of the 30 years that Mrs. Johnson spent teaching deaf children at the VA School for Deaf and Blind in Hampton. The Johnson Scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the M.Ed. or Doctoral programs in the Department of Special Education and Disability Policy based on financial need and a demonstrated commitment to the field of special education.
