Jo Lynne S. DeMary Merit Scholarship in Education

The Jo Lynne S. DeMary Merit Scholarship in Education was established in 2000 by Dr. Jo Lynne S. DeMary, MED ’72. Dr. DeMary, former Virginia Superintendent of Public Instruction, was the first School of Education alumna to establish a merit scholarship for VCU students who have indicated an interest in teaching. She has also served for a number of years on the VCU Alumni Association Board of Directors, including as President. The DeMary Scholarship is awarded to meritorious, incoming, full-time freshmen in the School of Education who are pursuing a Masters of Teaching degree.
