Ruth Hibbs Hyland Scholarship in Art Education

Established in 1972 by Mr. Fred T. Hyland in honor of his wife, Ruth Hibbs Hyland, the Hyland Scholarship is designated for sophomores, juniors, and seniors majoring in Art Education. Mrs. Hyland was a 20-year faculty member in the School of the Arts and was the sister of Dr. Henry Hibbs, founder of the Richmond Professional Institute. Selection of recipients is based on academic merit, leadership qualities, financial need, and teaching potential.
