The Arthur J. Seidenberg Scholarship

Upon his retirement, friends, colleagues, and former students endowed this Scholarship. Dr. Seidenberg came to VCU in the fall of 1968. During his tenure, he was the coordinator of Pre-health sciences advising and the Assistant dean of Undergraduate Academic Affairs. He retired as Associate Professor of Biology Emeritus on January 1, 2003.

This one-year scholarship is awarded to a VCU student who has been accepted into the VCU School of Dentistry or School of Medicine.

  • Students must have been accepted by the VCU School of Dentistry or Medicine and plan to matriculate in that calendar year (i.e. the scholarship cannot be deferred and may be awarded as late as the Spring semester of their initial year in school).
  • Students admitted to the VCU School of Dentistry or Medicine through the “guaranteed admission” program are not eligible.
  • Students who have done the majority of their pre-dental or pre-medical coursework at VCU OR are VCU post-baccalaureate students, typically non-science majors, who have completed their pre-professional coursework on the VCU Monroe Park Campus.
